MijoAnalytics v.2 released, Piwik inside

I'm proud to announce a new millestone for the ultimate Joomla Site Analytics component, MijoAnalytics. We've totally revamped the component and implemented the leading open source web analytics platform, Piwik.

Dashboard  Visitors  Geo-location  Visitor Profile   Installation

It has passed more than 2 years since we released the first version of MijoAnalytics. Since then, we've had a lot of customers asking to implement Piwik instead of OWA. Let me explain why we decided to switch to Piwik.

Actively Developed

One of the main problems with OWA is that it lives like a dead project. In these 2 years, 3 new versions has been released with zero (0) new features. Piwik has released 20 new versions with tons of new features. It has an active community support and devleopment.

Mobile Apps

Piwik has free official apps for iOS and Android phones and tablets. The apps offer all the same reports as the desktop interface and displays your visitor data in real time so you could check your stats from anywhere and show them to colleagues in meetings.

Multilingual Interface

OWA had no such a feature, it was only in English. However, Piwik offers 50+ languages translated for both web and mobile.

Customizable Dashboard & Widgets

Piwik allows you to create new dashboard, reset dashboard to the default widget layout, rename dashboards, remove dashboards etc. All of these actions are done Ajax based.

Data Export

This was one the most requested feature from our customers, missing in OWA. So now you can export any part of your data in CSV, Excel, XML, Json, PHP and RSS formats.

Real Time Analytics

Piwik offers real time web analytics reports so you could view details about your visitors in real time as they enter your website. It also has a Visitor Profile feature to show in one report a summary of information about a particular visitor. The Visitor profile lists all previous visits from the visitor, and information about the first and last visit, as well as showing the map with visitor location(s).

Live Data Sharing

You can share any part your data inside/outside of your site just by using an embed HTML code. All you have to do is to filter the data and copy-paste the HTML code.

There are lot more features I can mention here such as scheduled email reports, segmentation, log analytics, tracking and data APIs etc. Here you can find all of these.

How to upgrade to MijoAnalytics v.2 ?

Unfortunately, that is not possible because of being totally different platforms. So you can use MijoAnalytics only on new sites if you want to keep the current data or remove the v.1 and install the v.2.

Why not Piwik but MijoAnalytics ?

MijoAnalytics is a native Joomla component with Piwik inside so you don't have to jump here and there and login different places to see the stats. Here you can find the principle advantages of MijoAnalytics.

Why not Google Analytics but MijoAnalytics ?

Pretty simple, you enjoy full control over your data. Unlike Google Analytics, you host MijoAnalytics on your own server and you have no data storage limits. Here you can find the principle advantages of MijoAnalytics.

What about the WordPress version?

It's almost ready and will be released within a couple of days.

Congratulations !!!!
This is perfect!

I only have one doubt. In OWA had the heat maps and we could even record video what the user typed in the search button, where you clicked, and much more related to movement of the mouse in sitee-commerce. This Piwik does not have a heat map, if I'm wrong correct me, if I'm right you could create this function?
