MijoShop 1.4 is out! Perfected!
I'm proud to announce a new milestone for the leading Joomla Shopping Cart component, MijoShop. This is a major release and includes several new features such as OpenCart 1.5.5 inside, editor button, integration with other components, filters and a lot more.

The latest release was about 2 months ago and since then we were not sleeping but adding new and cool features to MijoShop, you may be aware of this from the lengh of this post and the changelogsI called this milestone as "Perfected" as it's really the most perfect version of MijoShop/OpenCart as a shopping cart for Joomla. I must firstly thank Mehmet for making this milestone available and then the rest of our team for testing it in depth. So let me introduce the new features of this release.

OpenCart 1.5.5 inside

A new version of OpenCart has been released just yesterday. Of course that we had it on our hands for some time ago. It includes new features such as Klarna payment gateway, Product Filters, Category and Download selection now uses auto-complete, allow the cart to be passed across multiple domains and a lot of bugs fixed.

Product Filters

This may be the most important feature of the new version of OpenCart. These would let the visitors filter your products by a certain criteria like category, manufacture, price, color, size etc. Indeed this is a useful feature to help visitors to narrow down the product into the list of criteria they need. In fact this feature is already available by 3rd party extensions called as Layered Navigation but this time you have it in the core.

MijoShop MiniCart & Currency Modules

We have added 2 new modules in MijoShop 1.4 so now you can show the cart and/or currencies that are positioned at the header of MijoShop as Joomla modules. Especially the cart module was requested so much from our members and now you have it ;)

Language Optimizations

Another big thing of MijoShop 1.4 is the optimization done related with languages. One is related with OpenCart so if the language string is not available for the native language then the English word will be shown. The other one is bigger, now you can use the language override page of Joomla to override OpenCart texts so now you don't have to edit files if you want to change the texts! Here you can find more info about how to achieve that (login required).

Password Sync Improved

Sometimes you may have run accross the OpenCart login screen even you were logged in Joomla, especially in back-end. We've tested all of the circumstances (about 15) and imporved the synchronization between 2 systems (Joomla & OpenCart) so that now you'll never have such an issue anymore.

Editor Button

Now you have a button under your Joomla editor if you want to add products into any article or K2 item or somewhere else using the Content - MijoShop plugin. This will make your life easier as you don't have to memore the custom code as it was before (login required). See it live in the screenshots above.

Integrations

In fact, for me, this is the coolest feature of MijoShop 1.4 as it gives you the opportunity to use MijoShop just as a shopping cart and handle the other things from other components. I.E. the integration with Akeeba Subscriptions allows you to sell subscriptions from MijoShop and handle them from Akeeba Subs component, isn't that cool? Moreover, integrations are done through Joomla plugins so it's very extendible and don't have to update the component for further integrations! Another integration included in this release is the Joomla ACL which allows you to assign to and/or remove from any group any user that purchases any product. See the screenshots above. More integrations will come later for K2, Kunena, DOCman, JomSocial etc.

You may be asking yourself why is this so needed especially for Akeeba Subscriptions as it already has a payment system and it's payment gateways?? Very simple, because Nicholas can't and shouldn't write so much gateways as MijoShop/OpenCart has already them done, 570 payment gateways. Why should Nicholas waste his time on re-inventing the wheel by rewriting those gateways for Akeeba Subs while he can add new features to the system? Check this, 21 tickets (66%) are just for payment gateways.

We are aware of a change done in OpenCart 1.5.5 releated with language loading that breaks the old OpenCart extensions but we have included the fix for that in the package so MijoShop users can upgrade to this version with their mind at peace. As I said above, our team has been intensively testing this version for more than 1 week.

How to upgrade to MijoShop 1.4

Very simple, check this article. Even we use a dedicated server, the automatic upgrade may fail sometimes due to the high load. You can use the manual upgrade in such a case. As always, don't forget to take a back-up before upgrading.

Responsive + Bootstrap theme

We had too much requests to make a responisve + bootstrap theme and we have it finally done. Here you can find our "Bootstroft" theme, fully responsive.

That is possible in MijoShop, you can request files from customers while adding the product to cart.

Denis currently I use the system from your old partner but now I think I need to change to Mijosoft I have sent some questions please reply.

I have an additional question currently I have installed a extension that copies the apply coupon code and apply gift voucher code to the checkout page so that they show in both checkout and shopping cart as many times customers go straight to checkout and cannot find where to apply codes. Have you applied this to Mijosoft ?
